# Connectors

> Connect the tools you already use so Vivacity can see what's happening and help you act.

**Connectors** link Vivacity to the tools you already run your business on - your store, ads, inbox, CRM, accounting and more. Connect a tool once and Vivacity can read it, fold it into your single picture, and draft actions for your approval.

<Info>
  **The rule that never changes:** connectors are **read-only at setup**, and any action Vivacity takes in a connected tool is **drafted and held for your approval**. You're always in control.
</Info>

## How connectors fit together

| Type                | What it's for                                                       | Examples                                 |
| :------------------ | :------------------------------------------------------------------ | :--------------------------------------- |
| **Data sources** | Let Vivacity *see* what's happening so it can explain and recommend | Shopify, Xero, Meta Ads, HubSpot, GA4 |
| **Action channels** | Let Vivacity *draft* messages and actions for you to approve | Gmail, Outlook, Klaviyo, Slack, WhatsApp |
| **AI providers** | Power the drafting and reasoning behind the scenes | OpenAI, Anthropic |

<Tip>
  Most tools do both - Vivacity reads your store *and* can draft a win-back email for a lapsed customer. The approval gate applies to every outward action, every time.
</Tip>

## How a connection works

<Steps>
  <Step title="Connect" icon="plug">
    In **Settings → Connectors**, pick a tool and authorise read-only access (sign in, or paste an API key).
  </Step>

  <Step title="Sync" icon="rotate">
    Vivacity reads your recent history to build a baseline, then keeps it fresh on a schedule.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Use" icon="wand-magic-sparkles">
    The data flows into your briefings, answers and recommendations - and Vivacity can draft actions back to the tool for your approval.
  </Step>
</Steps>

See [How connectors work](/connectors/how-connectors-work) for sync, refresh and reconnection details.

## Security & permissions

* **Read-only by default.** Setup grants read access only.
* **Credentials encrypted.** Tokens and keys are stored encrypted and are never shown back to you or your team.
* **Revoke any time.** Disconnect a tool in one click; Vivacity stops reading immediately.
* **Your data stays yours.** It's used only to help *you* - never shared across businesses, never used to train third-party models.

Full detail in [Data & permissions](/connectors/data-and-permissions).

## Who can connect tools

Connectors are managed at the workspace level. Workspace **owners and admins** can add, remove and control who's allowed to create connections; teammates use the connections they've been given access to. See [Manage connections](/connectors/manage-connections).

## Browse the connector library

Every tool below has its own page with what syncs, how to connect, and troubleshooting. Don't see your tool? Email **[support@vivacity.ai](mailto:support@vivacity.ai)** - the list is growing.

## FAQ

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion title="Is Vivacity going to change things in my tools?">
    Not without your say-so. Connectors are read-only at setup, and every outward action (an email, a message, a budget change) is drafted and held for your explicit approval.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="What if my tool isn't listed?">
    Tell us at **[support@vivacity.ai](mailto:support@vivacity.ai)**. In the meantime, many things can be imported manually - for example via a [Google Sheet](/connectors/productivity/googlesheets) - and some tools show a **Manual fallback** option.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="How fresh is the data?">
    Vivacity syncs on a schedule and you can trigger a manual sync any time. See [Data & sync](/troubleshooting/data-and-sync).
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Can I disconnect later?">
    Yes - any time, in **Settings → Connectors**. Vivacity stops reading immediately.
