# Ask Vivacity

> Ask anything about your business in plain English and get a grounded answer.

Ask Vivacity is a conversation with someone who has read all your numbers. Type a question the way you'd ask a smart colleague - no formulas, no filters.

## Why the answers are trustworthy

* **Grounded in your data.** Answers come from the tools you connected, not the open web.
* **It shows its working.** Vivacity explains how it reached an answer so you can sanity-check it.
* **It won't guess.** If the data isn't connected or is too thin, Vivacity tells you what's missing instead of making something up.

<Warning>
  Answers are only as complete as what you've connected. If Vivacity says it can't see something, head to [Connectors](/connectors/introduction) to add the source.

## Tips for better answers

See [Writing good questions](/best-practices/writing-good-questions) for the patterns that get the sharpest results - being specific about the time period, the metric, and what you're trying to decide.
